Our People

The people of Seattle have spoken.  We want transportation choices that make sense for our city and vibrant neighborhoods that are safe and accessible for everyone.  We want more bike paths, more walkable streets, more local businesses, and more transit options.  And we consistently say that we’re willing to pay for them.

In the last few years, the people of Seattle have come out strong for three major transit initiatives.  In 2006, a resounding 69% of us said yes to Transit Now and 53% of us supported the Bridging the Gap transportation levy.  By 2008, we unified even more for Sound Transit 2 with 70% of the vote.

We’ve also agreed to bike and pedestrian master plans that could revolutionize our city.  But they have yet to be funded. Now we’re working to ensure that these developments in our neighborhoods receive the funding they need so we can walk, bike, and ride throughout our city.

Join us and let’s be sure this gets done.

Make it happen!
